Standing

When steadying stance, the trooper lowers silhouette and moves more quietly. The weapon is held in a point-shooting position, making unaimed fire at close range more effective.

Weapon handling is also performed more carefully in this stance. Even during a full reload, the shooter retains the magazine to avoid revealing the position through the sound of it hitting the ground and to avoid leaving it behind. Manipulating the action still produces some noise, but is done as quietly as possible.

Crouching

Using a steady stance while crouched allows the trooper to lower their silhouette even further and provides additional recoil stability. The obvious drawback is a noticeable reduction in mobility.
