Blindfiring is performed by extending the weapon beyond cover while the shooter remains protected behind it. Unlike firing while leaning, the fire is unaimed and intended primarily for suppression.
Blindfiring replaces normal aiming when there is not enough free space in front of the weapon to aim properly, for example when moving close to an obstacle.
When looking toward the upper or side edges of an obstacle, the character will slightly angle the weapon in the corresponding direction, indicating where blindfire is currently possible.
