Standing and Crouching
Leaning allows the trooper to engage targets from behind cover more safely while still maintaining aimed fire, unlike blind firing.
The position of the weapon relative to cover matters. When holding the weapon on the right shoulder, it is more convenient to engage from behind cover positioned on the left, as most of the shooter’s body remains concealed. When working from behind cover positioned on the right, the shooter switches the weapon to the left shoulder, again keeping most of the body behind cover.
However, firing while leaning puts the body in a less comfortable position and makes recoil more difficult to control.

Prone
In the prone position, “leaning” involves partially rolling the body to the side. This also allows the weapon to be brought lower to the ground, making it easier, for example, to engage from underneath vehicles or certain types of cover. At the same time, this position severely limits the shooter’s mobility.
